Beckhoff EL6731 rev. 0025 PROFIBUS master terminal The PROFIBUS master terminal EL6731 supports the PROFIBUS protocol with all its features. Within an EtherCAT Terminal network, it enables the integration of any PROFIBUS devices. Thanks to the PROFIBUS chip developed in-house, the terminal is equipped with the latest version of the PROFIBUS technology – including high-precision isochronous mode for axis control and expanded diagnostic options. The EL6731 supports different poll rates for the PROFIBUS slaves. Cycle times from 200 µs are possible. PROFIBUS DP, PROFIBUS DP-V1, PROFIBUS DP-V2 master or slave up to 12 Mbit/s powerful parameter and diagnostics interfaces The error management for each bus user is freely configurable. It is possible to read the bus configuration and automatically assign the “GSD” files. Like the FC3101 PROFIBUS PCI™ card, the EL6731 can be used for connection to PROFIBUS networks. The terminal, however, enables a more space-saving implementation since no PCI™ slots are required in the Industrial PC.
Beckhoff EK1110 Rev. 0017 EtherCAT extension TThe EK1110 EtherCAT extension is placed at the end of an EtherCAT Terminal segment or an Embedded PC from the CX series and offers the option of extending the EtherCAT network in the form of a line topology. Beckhoff EK1100 Rev. 0018 EtherCAT Coupler The EK1100 EtherCAT Coupler is the link between the EtherCAT protocol at fieldbus level and the EtherCAT Terminals. The coupler converts the passing telegrams from Ethernet 100BASE-TX to E-bus signal representation. A station consists of a coupler and any number of EtherCAT Terminals that are automatically detected and individually displayed in the process image. Special features: Connection technology: 2 x RJ45 socketConnection lengths: up to 100 m Number of EtherCAT Terminals in the overall system: up to 65,535 The EK1100 has two RJ45 sockets. The upper Ethernet interface is used to connect the coupler to the network; the lower socket serves for the optional connection of further EtherCAT devices in the same segment. In addition, an EtherCAT junction or an EtherCAT extension can be used for the extension or for setting up a line or star topology. The system and field supply, each 24 V DC, is provided directly at the coupler. The attached EtherCAT Terminals are supplied with the current required for communication from the supplied system voltage. The coupler can supply a maximum of 5 V and 2 A. If higher current is required, power feed terminals such as the EL9410 have to be integrated. The field supply is forwarded to the individual I/O components via the power contacts with up to 10 A. In the EtherCAT network, the EK1100 can be installed anywhere in the Ethernet signal transfer section (100BASE-TX) – except directly at the switch. The EK9000 and EK1000 couplers are suitable for use at the switch.
Beckhoff IE5109-0000 | Extension Box, 1-channel encoder interface, incremental, 5 V DC (DIFF RS422, TTL), 1 MHz, M23 The IE5109 module is an interface for the direct connection of incremental encoders with differential inputs (RS485) or with single inputs. A 16 bit counter with a quadrature decoder and a 16 bit latch for the zero pulse can be read, set or enabled. The inputs can optionally be used as complementary or as single inputs. Incremental encoders with alarm outputs can be connected at the interface’s status input. Interval measurement with a resolution of 200 ns is possible. The gate input allows the counter to be halted (high = stop). The value is read with a rising edge at the latch input.
Beckhoff CU8801-0000 Rev. 1.4 USB extension, USB Extended 2.0 transmitter box The USB specification allows a distance of 5 m between the PC and the USB devices. A further 5 m of cable can be added by using a USB hub. In the construction of machines and plants, larger distances must be bridged without having to insert a USB hub every 5 m. The CU8801-0000 USB Extender sends the 2.0 USB signal via a Cat.5 cable that can be up to 50 m long to the CU8851 USB Extended receiver, which converts the signal back to USB. Data rates of up to 480 Mbit/s can be transmitted. Both USB Extender boxes are designed for DIN rail mounting. The CU8801-0000 transmitter is powered by the PC. The CU8851 receiver has an integrated 24 V DC power supply unit.

EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel communication interface, serial, RS232, D-sub The EL6002 serial interface enables the connection of devices with two RS232 interfaces. The devices connected to the EL6002 EtherCAT Terminal communicate with the automation device via the Coupler. The active communication channel operates independently of the higher-level EtherCAT system in full duplex mode with 300 baud up to 115.2 kbaud. The RS232 interfaces guarantee high interference immunity through electrically isolated signals. In conjunction with the TwinCAT Virtual Serial COM Driver, the EL6002 can be used as a normal Windows COM interface.
